I really like the way you mixed a female with aspects of a frog. Even her eyes remind me of a frog's stare. I dont' know about t "Cept and the fanzine Divine Comedy", but she definilty reminds me of the story "the frog prince" so I might assume it is something like that.
I find it interesting how you heavily outlined her form, but not the surronding background. Interesting illustrative technique. I can see how it helps fade the background out into the white paper...
In all honesty, I personally think the grey limb in the front might benefit if it had some outlining as well, because it should be the most in focus because it is closest to the viewer, and it might help ground the female to her post a little more.
The figure foreground contrast over the background is a simple and very effective trick.. I'm not familiar with the character if this is fan art, but it is reminiscent of Brian Froud's work so it gets some points for that alone. Regardless of all that, I like frogs.. so … KARMA!
Exactly!! Brian froud is one of my artistic influence!! the next publication of Divine comedy is about Fairy tails, that's I thought to Froud!! But First, it's a fanart of Cept: Cept is a Renouille, a female version of " the frog prince"!! This character is a sort of Nymph of swamps^^ created by an artist named like her character Cept or 7 (pronounced in frensh) >> :iconerenouille:
For the technics, I use Copics, and i wanted to leave the background in the "vagueness", only the character seems to be real^^ the rest of the pict is bathes in a surnatural fog^^
Thank a lot for your kindness and your compliments!!^^
j'adore le concept et le rendu que tu as donné à cette petite princesse hybride toute mignonnette... la mise en couleurs confère une super ambiance...
Je suis moi aussi curieuse de savoir quel médium tu as utilisé ^o^
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
